The Combined Republican Flag of the Anglo Boer War has an orange stripe added under the entire "vierkleur" (the so called "vyfkleur" - 5 colours).

Because the Boers lost the war in 1902 and both republics were dissolved into the British Empire, the Vyfkleur never had the chance to transition from a wartime field flag into a permanent peacetime national symbol.
However, the core concept of the Vyfkleur—harmoniously blending the Dutch tricolor base with both Boer republican elements (green and orange)—ultimately served as a conceptual stepping stone for South African flag designers in the 20th century. When the Union of South Africa designed its first official national flag in 1928, it heavily relied on that exact same color palette (orange, white, blue, with the miniature republican inserts) to strike a balance between competing regional histories.
