The 44 Parachute Pathfinders were a highly specialized unit within the South African Defence Force's 44 Parachute Brigade, active from 1978 to 1982.
Consisted of a small group of highly trained and experienced soldiers, often recruited from veterans of Rhodesia's Special Forces and British and American special operations units.
